DailyPhotos > Chuck & Paula Beehner  > Other > Give Us Our Daily Beans...
While I started doing this on my own, Paula has joined me… We now each post a picture every other day (or so). Still we try to keep them current, within the week of posting. Share a shot a day... The goal for anyone here should be to use this opportunity to make improvements in your photography with each daily; that is ours. We are enjoying our time in this community, and appreciate all the comments we are getting. I must say Paula is much better with commenting than I… As this gallery gets larger (older) we will be moving pictures into other galleries as appropriate, please feel free to view our work throughout this site.

Chuck & Paula Beehner > 11-4-2009… Just Daffy or Narcissus Sunset

I did warn you…there would be more daffies…taken here as the sunset light came across the lawn.

Seems like the smaller, simpler ones bloom first. These flowers are about 1-1/4” in diameter. Then somewhere between Thanksgiving and New Years the big ones bloom. We are just going to have to throw in a flower picture every once in a while to keep those in colder climates jealous…

Chuck & Paula Beehner > 11-2-2009… I Can’t Shut It Off…

Another walk at the Tree Farm this weekend, some of the water valves are down in pipes in the ground. I got so dizzy taking this one…

Chuck & Paula Beehner > 10-31-2009… Self Portrait…

Well, we have seen so many self portraits done here on the dailies, Paula and I thought we would do one too. Forgot…it is Halloween…wait a minute…is that really us? Collaborative effort by both of us.

P.S. Paula is the good looking one up front...
Chuck & Paula Beehner > 10-30-2009… Old, old cameras…

The simple box camera as best I can identify it is a Kodak Hawk-eye No. 2, Model C. Kodak produced this model from 1926 to 1934. Somewhere along the line someone lost the handle and replaced it with some simple cord, I’ve left it alone.

The 3A Folding Pocket Kodak, this one is a model B-4, Eastman Kodak's first postcard format camera, was introduced in 1903 and sold until 1915. That puts this one in the ±100 year old range. This one really had some features…the lens can be adjusted up or down and right and left from the film plane. Shutter speeds of 100th, 50th, 25th of a second, Bulb and Timed, f-stops f4 to f128. An optional glass focus plate was available and an air squeeze shutter release “bulb” could be used. Sweet camera for its day…still is…

Detrola Camera, Model A; Detrola (International Detrola Corp) was a radio and record-player manufacturer, based in Detroit, Michigan. They also made a few cameras, over a very short period they were in business - 1939-40. Most were cheaply-made from Bakelite mouldings and pressed tinplate.

Have many others, but most are packed away…this will be my last of these for a while. Plan on getting them all out and posting in a gallery sometime in the future.

Chuck & Paula Beehner > 10-28-2009… Bridge of Uncertainty…

Often the path is not clearly defined and one must cross the bridge of uncertainty just to discovery where it may take you…sometimes you discover a great way forward…sometimes you just turn around and go back…but now, at least you know…

A shot from our weekend walk in a place we call “The Tree Farm”. Great place to walk your dog… It is actually a section of The Mendocino National Forest that is in Chico called The Genetic Resource and Conservation Center. In the early days this was used as a test area for plants being brought in from abroad; the first Kiwi vine ever brought to the United States still grows there. Now it is used to test evergreen tree types and hybrid crosses.
Chuck & Paula Beehner > 10-27-2009… Daffy

The first of the daffodils… This one is usually the first one up and to flower. Over the next two to three months many more will bloom (and there are many). This will not be the last daffy to see…
