10-17-2009… Reflections of Fall Paula, Scout and I took a walk in Bidwell Park today. This is a reflection at One Mile Pool, a swimming hole in Chico Creek. I flipped the picture upside down to get this strange right-side-up look…
10-15-2009… The Strangest Things… You can find the strangest things after a bad rain storm…
10-13-2009… Glowing Snail Shell… Too much toxic dumping must be going on…found this huge glowing snail shell the other night. Pictured compared to a normal everyday garden snail. One of the strangest things I have ever found…;)
10-11-2009… Orchids Too Just a follow up shot from an earlier daily…this one captured all the blooms open at once. Last shot of these until next year, they are now starting to drop off…
10-8-2009… Pocus Crocus… Dug these followers up out of a yard of an abandoned house down the street, just before the bull dozer came… Now every fall they come up in our yard… Dug up hundreds of bulbs mostly daffodils and this crocus.
10-6-2009… Pistol And Powder Playing around with stills, still… An old pistol and powder flask.
10-5-2009… Tundra In The Sunset. Another one from my recent excursions into the mountains of Butte… Every once in a while I tried to capture the forest mood using my truck as the subject, go figure. I came away with two that I liked; choose to post this one in the dailies. This is from the same series of shots that my 9-23-2009 daily posting came from. This one shows the eerie starkness of the burned out areas of the mountain, the setting sun glaring thru the burned tree trunks. The other shot reflects the deep darkness of the thick undisturbed areas of the forest, dark shadows only broken by the rays of the sunlight breaking thru the canopy. 10-1-2009… Lassen Snow Storm We had a cold front move in this past week, fairly dry, some rain or thunderstorms possible. I was up once again on the ridges of the Rattlesnake Creek drainage. I came around a corner at sunset to see this snow storm on Mt Lassen. Not much fell and the end of the next day it had all melted away…
